Right Now Philippines
After taking their separate oath of offices, President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo met for the first time at Camp Aguinaldo during the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Change of Command. Cordial was how Robredo described her first meeting with the President who wanted to sit beside her onstage but was seated beside Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana instead.
Some media reports say that this short meet-up seems to have broken the ice between the two who ran in different political parties; the President under PDP-Laban and Robredo under the Liberal Party. During Duterte’s inauguration ceremony, moreover, Robredo was not invited because according to the President, the “place was too small”. Robredo had a separate inauguration at Quezon City to celebrate her and the people’s victory.
Both are now in the process of implementing changes to the country.
Weeks after Britain voted to leave the European Union (EU), many are still stumped (Filipinos included) as to what Brexit means and what really happened especially when Prime Minister David Cameron resigned. He said in his own words, “I will do everything I can as Prime Minister to steady the ship over the coming weeks and months. But I do not think it would be right for me to try to be the captain that steers our country to its next destination.”
The uproar also caused the pound falling to its lowest level since 1985 and necessary steps are now being taken to ensure that the economy is stabilized in the next few days. The UK stock market also had the worst drop since the financial crisis started.
Well even with all of such turmoil and chaos, many are still looking at the brighter side of things – Brexit memes are invading the internet. Among these include a slogan than says “Now you can panic” embedded with a British crown, a chat with the European Union that says, “Britain has left the group” and a movie poster entitled, “The Great Escape”.
When you decide to take on that challenge, just make sure that it’s your spouse. Gel Sandoval learned this the hard way when she found out that her husband’s other woman posted a photo of her and Sandoval’s husband, saying “Love isn’t something you find. Love is something that finds you”. Sandoval said in the harshest of words to the “other woman” to tell her husband to give support to their child and to never neglect his responsibilities.
Many have supported Sandoval, encouraging her with her post and to fight what should be hers in the first place. Her husband, on the other hand, plans to take her to court for that damaging status message. No comment yet on the other woman.
The post has been shared over 4,000 times while making a household name for the jilted trio.
